Optical surface making by UV-curing of monomeric compositions in the near field of a coherent light source
Two processes of the formation of the optical surface of microlenses are investigated. They are based on: (1) selective UV-curing of a composition on the active surface, (2) effect of the composition shrinkage under UV-curing. Both methods are a modification of the group of soft lithographic processes. The methods are simple and suitable for commercial use with a possibility of the exact computer-generated determination of a microlens form. These methods are applied to the formation of a microlense on the top of a fiber.
