X-ray Structural Analysis of 5-(4-pyridyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2(3H)-thione
The title compound 5-(4-pyridyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2(3H)-thione was characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The crystals are monoclinic, space group P2(1)/n with a = 4.7946(15), b = 13.775(4), c = 11.722(4) angstrom, alpha = 90, beta = 96.557(5), gamma = 90 degrees, V = 769.1(4) angstrom(3), Z = 4, F(000) = 368, D-c = 1.548g/cm(3), mu = 0.368 mm(-1), the final R = 0.0301, and wR = 0.0838. A total of 6203 reflections were collected, of which 1358 were independent (R-int = 0.0348). In the crystal packing diagram, intermolecular C-HS and N -HN hydrogen bonds stabilize the solid state of the title compound .
