A novel, magnetically separable, nanosized carbapallada-cycle has been synthesized by anchoring a carbapalladacycle moiety on the surface of magnetic Fe3O4@SiO2. The as-prepared catalyst was well characterized and evaluated for Suzuki, Heck, and Sonogashira coupling reactions in terms of its activity in ionic liquid media. The catalyst could be easily recovered from the reaction medium by an external magnet and could be recycled for up to seven cycles without any appreciable loss in activity.
