Pressure Broadening of the v(1) Band of Nitrous Oxide by Carbon Dioxide
Using mid-infrared laser direct absorption spectroscopy with a quantum cascade laser light source, we investigated the room-temperature pressure broadening of nitrous oxide (N2O) in carbon dioxide (CO2) over the 1273.7-1277.2 cm(-1) wavenumber range for the v(1) symmetric stretching mode. The five measured absorption profiles of N2O were analyzed with Voigt functions. The CO2 pressure broadening coefficients ranged from 0.091(3) cm(-1) atm(-1) for the P(13) line to 0.125(2) cm(-1) atm(-1) for the P(9) line.
