Nanostructure Control of Porous Carbon Materials through Changing Acidity with a Soft-template Method
Nanostructures of porous carbon materials were controlled by a soft-template method for expanding their applications. When 2,6-dihydropyridine hydrochloride, a nitrogen-containing compound, was used as a carbon precursor in addition to resorcinol, larger pores over 50 nm appeared besides mesopores. The condition of such large pores being formed was examined in detail, and acidity was found to be a key factor for large pores rather than the presence of nitrogen atoms.
