Use of SBA-15 silica modified with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane as the adsorbent for 2-naphthoxyacetic acid
2-Naphthoxyacetic acid was adsorbed from its Me2CHOH solns. (conc. 100-3500 mg/L) at 25 degrees C for 12 h on unmodified SiO2 (0.2 g sample) or on aminopropyl group-modified SiO2. The adsorption was well described by Langmuir model. The SiO2 surface functionalization resulted in 19 fold increase of the adsorption capacity.
