Hybrid Process Using Pervaporation for the Removal of Organics from Process and Waste-Water
Results of pervaporation experiments are reported for water/aniline mixtures with three hydrophobic membranes. Fluxes and separation diagrams have been determined at temperatures from 313 to 353 K. The separation characteristics of the different membranes are compared. In all cases aniline is the component permeating preferentially. A hybrid process for the removal of aniline from water is proposed including pervaporation operating with one of these membranes.
