Spectroscopic identification of the Ar center dot center dot center dot I-2 intermolecular levels bound throughout the Ar + I-2(B,nu') potential
Action spectra were recorded to identify the Ar center dot center dot center dot I-2 intermolecular vibrational levels bound within the Ar + I-2(B,nu' = 20-23) excited-state potentials. Features associated with transitions of the linear and T-shaped Ar center dot center dot center dot I-2(X,nu '' = 0) ground-state conformers are identified. Due to the overlap of levels bound within different Ar + I-2(B,nu') potentials there is a high density of spectral features. Comparisons of the spectral shifts of the features from different I-2 B-X, nu'-0 bands are used to identify those levels bound within each of the Ar + I-2(B,nu') potentials. At least 17 bound intermolecular vibrational levels that span nearly the entire potential are identified. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
