Hydrotalcite-supported PdPt-catalyzed Aerobic Oxidation of 5-Hydroxymethylfurfural to 2,5-Furandicarboxylic Acid in Water
The aerobic oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA) was investigated over hydrotalcite (HT)-supported various catalysts composed of PVP-capped Au, Pd, or Pt. Among all prepared catalysts, Pd20Pt80-PVP/HT possessed highest activity for FDCA formation. Pd,PdxPty-PVP/HT is characterized by UV-vis spectroscopy, TEM, XRD, and XPS techniques.
