Coiled-tubing (CT) window-milling technology has become the cornerstone of Arco’s CT drilling (CTD) sidetrack program at Prudhoe Bay. The company has been able to reduce sidetrack costs by an average. age of 40% compared with conventional sidetrack methods through the continued evolution of CTD technology. Cement sidetracking is an important part of this technology and the subject of this paper.
