Carbon polymers from carbide solutions
CaC2 was dissolved in molten ZnCl2 and converted at 100-220 degrees C to a polymer of formula - [C(ZnCl)=C(CaCl)(n)-in the first stage and then to a polycyclic graphane of a flat structure. Above 220 degrees C, the reaction course was hardly controlable. The real structure of CaC2 was evidenced.
