Abatement of emissions of sulfur oxides from combustion of a fuel based on waste tire char

CaCO3 and Ca(OH)(2) were added (up to 10%) to tire rubber carbonizates used as solid fuels. The addn. resulted in a decrease of SO2 content in flue gases and in an increase in ash content in the fuel.
