Adsorption of sulfur(IV) oxide on activated carbon from pyrolysis of waste tires
Waste tire fragments (50x50 mm) were carbonized at 400 degrees C, activated with CO2 at 850 degrees C or 1000 degrees C for 15 min and studied for porous structure (low-temp. adsorption of N-2) and for SO2 adsorption capacity. The sp. surface of the activated C samples and SO2 adsorption capacity increased with increasing activation temp.
