In-Situ Determination by ESR of the Oxidation-State of Copper in Cu-ZSM-5 in Flowing He and O-2 Up to 500-Degrees-C
A flow cell was designed to study the oxidation state of copper ions in Cu-ZSM-5 in situ at high temperatures. In a thoroughly purified He flow or in vacuum there is no spontaneous thermal reduction of the cupric ions up to 500 degrees C. The addition of propene to the flow suppresses the Cu2+ ESR signal even at room temperature.
