Voltammetric and impedance characterization of Li4Ti5O12/n-Ag composite for lithium-ion batteries
Li4Ti5O12/n-Ag composite powders were investigated using Cyclic Voltammetry and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy methods to understand the reasons behind enhanced electrochemical properties of lithium-titanium oxide after silver nanoparticles deposition. CV measurements revealed increased chemical diffusion coefficient values for Li+ ions inside lithium-titanium oxide matrix for samples modified with silver nanoparticles. It has been shown, that increasing amount of n-Ag on the surface of LTO resulted in enhanced lithium mobility in host material. EIS experiments confirmed the chemical diffusion coefficient trend and also showed a decrease in Li4Ti5O12/n-Ag electrodes' impedance. The electrochemical properties of examined powders did not change significantly above 3% wt. content of n-Ag in composite materials. (C) 2016 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
