Communication-Preparation of Cu-Al Hydrotalcite-Like Materials for Supercapacitors
[Cu-Al-[Cu(C6H4O7)](2) hydrotalcite-like compound was firstly investigated as a potential electrode for the supercapacitors. [Cu-Al-[Cu(C6H4O7)](2-) was achieved by hydrothermal method and Cu-Al-CuO-C was obtained after calcination. The electrochemical performances were characterized by an electrochemical analyzer system. The specific initial capacitance of the Cu-Al-CuO-C electrode is up to 88.44 F/g, and 69.54 F/g is retained after 1000 cycles of galvanostatic charge and discharge at 5 mA/cm(2). It demonstrates Cu-Al-CuO-C hydrotalcite-like compound is a good candidate as electrode for supercapacitors. This work also offers a novel perspective to exploit the potential application of hydrotalcite-like family. (C) 2016 The Electrochemical Society. All rights reserved.
