Proton exchange membrane fuel cells: Investigation of control schemes for reactants' flow pressure
In this paper, the operation of proton exchange membrane fuel cell systems is introduced by modeling of reactant flow pressure control schemes. Proportional-Integral, Fuzzy logic and Artificial neural network-based schemes are proposed to control the hydrogen and oxygen flow pressure. A MATLAB/Simulink model is developed for the proton exchange membrane fuel cell power generation system by combining the designed controllers. The system performance is tested under different operating conditions for each controller-assisted proton exchange membrane fuel cell and found to be satisfactory. Furthermore, a comparative study is made in terms of controller response and the fuel consumption.
