Studies on the use of tributyl phosphate for purification of phosphoric acid
Com. H3PO4 was purified by extn. with (BuO)(3)PO from an aq. soln. to remove Fe3+ ions under lab. conditions according to a design of expts. at 32-45 degrees C and H2O/(BuO)(3)PO vol. ratio 0.3-1.5. The process was described by a polynomial equation. The highest extn. degree (82.45%) was achieved at 16.15 degrees C and H2O/(BuO)(3)PO ratio 0.3 after 53.13 min of extn.
