This study discussed the selective oxidation of H2S in the presence of excess water and ammonia using vanadium-bismuth mixed catalysts. Selective catalytic oxidation of H2S can produce elemental sulfur and ammonium thiosulfate (ATS) without SOx emission. Phase cooperation for mechanical mixtures of V2O5+Bi2O3 and V-Bi-O/TiO2 binary oxide catalyst was investigated in selective catalytic oxidation. This study will offer a new solution for removal of H2S in the stream containing ammonia and water vapor.
