MoS2 encapsulated SnO2-SnS/C nanosheets as a high performance anode material for lithium ion batteries
Sn-based composites are promising anode materials for lithium -ion batteries (LIBs), due to their high theoretical capacities. However, their poor stability usually limits the practical applications, owing to the large volume variation during the extensive charge/discharge cycling process. Herein, a novel MoS2 coated SnO2-SnS/C nanosheets have been designed and fabricated by the combination of freeze method with assistance of the NaCl particles and hydrothermal method. Due to the strong synergistic effect between the ultrathin MoS2 nanosheets and the SnO2-SnS/C nariosheets, the MoS2@SnO2-SnS/C nanosheets exhibit excellent electrochemical performance as anode for lithium ion batteries. High specific capacity values of 1006, 896, 824, 750 and 613 mA h g(-1) have been obtained for MoS2@SnO2-SnS/C nanosheets at 0.2, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 5.0 A g(-1), respectively. Moreover, it can deliver a high reversible capacity of 637 mA h g(-1) after 500 cycles at a current density of 1.0 A g(-1). (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
