Perovskite NdCoO3 is an active catalyst for the oxidation of carbon monoxide at reaction temperatures below 200 degrees C and CO concentrations ranging from 5 to at least 10 vol %. A suitable manufacturing method is the continuously operated drip pyrolysis. In this process, the perovskite is yielded as a free-flowing powder with enhanced specific surface area. Deactivation upon CO-Oxidation can be completely prevented by means of a pre-treatment of the perovskite with hydrogen.
