Er0.4Bi1.6O3-delta - La0.8Sr0.2MnO3-delta nano-composite as a low-temperature firing cathode of solid oxide fuel cell
Er0.4Bi1.6O3-delta (ESB) composited with La0.8Sr0.2MnO3-delta (LSM) (2:3 or 3:2 wt:wt) with a bonding aid to decrease firing temperature T-F are screen-printed on symmetric single cells composed of a Gd0.2Ce0.8O2-delta (GDC) interlayer/yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) electrolyte/GDC interlayer, and their impedance spectra are compared. Addition of 5 wt % CuO to ESB-ISM (3:2 wt:wt) decreases the cathode T-F to 650 degrees C without increasing cathodic polarization resistance (R-p similar to 0.19 Omega cm(2) at 650 degrees C). This ESB-LSM composite can be used as a cathode that can be fired at low temperature. (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
