Na formate was added to a Na polyaspartate and imidasole-contg. corrosion inhibitor package and used for studying the corrosivity of Cd-coated steel and Al, Mg and Ti alloy machine parts for 24 h at 35 degrees C. The parts were weighed, cleaned, degreased and dipped in a 5% aq. soln. of the agent. After the study, the parts were washed again with water, dried and weighed. The mass loss was a measure of the corrosion resistance of the parts. Addnl., the ability of the agent to penetrate the sample of ice was detd. by measuring the depth of the ice dissolved under its action. For comparison, 4 other com. agents were used. The agent showed the lowest corrosivity and the best penetration ability when compared with the com. ones.
