Selective Measurement of Chemical-Exchange Rates by Synchronous Nutation in Nuclear-Magnetic-Resonance Spectroscopy
The application of the synchronous nutation method for the determination of chemical exchange rates is shown. This method allows the selective monitoring of one chosen exchange process, even in multisite exchange systems, The ability to select one exchange process is demonstrated on the keto/enol tautomerism of ethyl acetoacetate, while a quantitative analysis is shown for a mixture of 2-hydroxyacetophenone and salicylaldehyde.
