Theory of Phase-Equilibrium
The historical background and some of the highlights of more recent developments in the theory of phase equilibria and their critical points are described. The historical mean-field theories-their strengths and certain of their deficiencies-are emphasized, as well as some of their recent applications to complex systems such as polymer solutions, microemulsions, multicomponent solutions and their tricritical points, and the interfaces between phases.
