Radiation-induced Grafting of 2,3-Epoxypropyl Methacrylate on Polypropylene Fabric and Introduction of various Amine Groups to the Copolymers
The grafting of 2,3-epoxypropyl methacrylate(GMA) on polypropylene fabric was carried out by the γ-ray preirradiation grafting technique. The grafting extent was found to be dependent on the reaction time, reaction temperature and preirradiation dose. GMA-grafted polypropylene fabric was reacted with methyl substituted amines in aqueous solution, ethyl substituted and other various amines at certain temperature for different time. In the case of substituted amines, it was found that the extent of amination was highest in DMA and DEA, respectively. Other cases, the amination extent followed the order EDA > DETA > HMDA.
