Role of surface modification of SiO2 with bio-safe citric acid on the morphological and thermal properties of nanocomposites based on N-trimellitylimido-L-methionine diacid and 4,4 '-diaminodiphenyl ether: using ultrasound irradiation and ionic liquid
In this work, the surface of SiO2 NPs was modified with citric acid (CA) to prevent agglomeration of SiO2 nanoparticles (NP)s in the poly(amide-imide) (PAI) matrix. The PAI was synthesized from polymerization reaction of N-trimellitylimido-l-methionine with 4,4'-diaminodiphenyl ether using molten tetra-n-butylammonium bromide and triphenyl phosphite. PAI-SiO2/CA nanocomposites (PSCN)s were prepared via a fast ultrasonic irradiation process. The PSCNs were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and thermogravimetric analysis.
