Supercritical methane adsorption isotherms on microporous activated carbon
High-pressure MeH excess adsorption isotherms up to 15 MPa were detd. by a gravimetric method at 298 K, 323 K and 343 K for (i) activated C samples made of waste polymers, and 2 corn. activated C samples: Norit CNR 115 and (iii) Chemviron WS480. The results were described by Dubinin-Radushkevich and Langmuir equations. A linear relationship between the max. of adsorption and inverse temp. was established. The micropore volumes for activted C calcd. from the MeH adsorption isotherm at 298K (i) 0.276, (ii) 0.317 and (iii) 0.294 cm(3)/g, were lower than those calcd. from low-temperature N-2 adsorption at 77.3 K: (1) 0.409, (ii) 0.553 and (iii) 0.398 cm(3)/g.
