ShcA is a cytoplasmic signaling protein that supports signal transduction by receptor protein-tyrosine kinases by providing auxiliary tyrosine phosphorylation sites that engage additional signaling proteins. The principal binding partner for tyrosine phosphorylation sites on ShcA is Grb2. In the current study, we have used phosphotyrosine-containing peptides to isolate and identify STS-1 as a novel ShcAbinding protein.
