A Fluorescence Turn-on Probe for Al(III) Based on a Naphthaldehyde Derivative
A novel fluorescent probe was designed and synthesized. The probe exhibited much higher selectivity and sensitivity for detecting aluminum(III) compared with other metal ions, anions, and amino acids in C2H5OH/H2O media through a fluorescence enhancement. The mechanism was proposed to form a kind of 2: 1-type complex between probe and aluminum( III) with a detection limit of 0.17 mu M.
