The preparation of hybrid-type dental restorative polymeric materials was carried out using fumed-silica microfiller with barium macrofiller fot the improvement of mechanical and esthetic properties of composites. Diametral tensile strength (DTS), Knoop hardness, surface properties, weatherbilities, and other mechanical properties were investigated. To improve the miscibility of filler with matrix resin, its surface was treated with silane and freeze-dried. These restorative composites showed excellent mechanical properties as well as esthetic characteristics.
