An artificial waste and undersize fraction mech. derived from municipal solid waste were mixed with a sewage sludge and studied for biodegrdn. of organic matter at 20 degrees C for 7 days by using a std. detn. of O-2 consumption and its rate. The mixts. showed higher biodegradability than the sewage sludge alone.
