In recent years, the natural gas exploration in the southern part of Sulige Oil Field has made some progress, especially the gas testing of Su 307 well has obtained high-yielding industrial gas flow in Shihezi Formation and found the gas-bearing enrichment area, which indicates the value of further exploration and development in this area. Therefore, it is very important to carry out the study of provenance in this area and deepen the understanding. Based on the previous research data, a series of provenance analysis methods are used to analyze the characteristics of sandstone debris components, quartz cathodoluminescence. The results show that there are three provenance areas in the study area, namely, the Alashan ancient land in the northwest margin of the basin, which is the provenance of the northwest part of the study area, and the Yinshan ancient land in the north margin of the basin, and the Liupan Mountain in the southwest margin of the basin.
