Tire oil from waste tire scraps using novel catalysts of manufacturing sand (M Sand) and TiO2: Production and FTIR analysis
Experimental investigation of the catalytic pyrolysis of tire scraps was carried out using novel-based catalysts as manufacturing sand (M Sand) and TiO2. The amounts of oil yield, composition, and time taken for conversion were analyzed for both the catalysts. The mass of catalyst utilized was fixed as 5 wt% for both catalysts. The oil yield was higher with TiO2 than M Sand, and other commercial catalysts except thermal degradation. Using M Sand, the oil yield was higher than Al2O3. The quality of oil with different catalysts was rated as TiO2 >= Al2O3 >= ZSM >= M Sand. In addition, the time taken for maximum conversion was rated as TiO2 >= M Sand >= ZSM >= Al2O3.
