Fly ash obtained from a power generation plant was used for synthesizing zeolite. The synthetic zeolite showed better adsorption ability about the radioactive ion than that of fly ash and natural zeolite. The maximum adsorption capacity of synthetic zeolite for Sr(2+) and Cs(4) was 85.5 and 133.3mg/g, respectively.
