The lightly and highly crosslinked polyvinylbenzylchloride (PVBC) copolymers as the gel and macroporous type were prepared by a suspension polymerization method. The porous polymeric adsorbents were produced from these beads by post-crosslinking the copolymer beads with Friedel-Crafts catalysts in a swollen state. The surface area of these adsorbents was obtained by BET method.
