A Study on the Separation and Adsorption of Heavy Metals Using Chelation Resins
Chelate polymer resins have been applied to selectively separate and recover one component in a mixture of heavy metals, Mo and W. The effect of pH on adsorption capacity was extensively studied. These chelate reisins showed the best adsorption rate for metal ion in the range of ph 1 - 4.0. The distribution coefficient of metal ions on these resins was decreased with pH. Amberlite IRC718 with iminodiacetic acid groups gave the best results among chelate resins investigated.
