Professor Gennady J. Kabo: Celebrating his 80th birthday and long-standing contributions to chemical thermodynamics
This article provides a brief summary of Professor Kabo's contributions to chemical thermodynamics along with a few biographical details on the occasion of his 80th birthday. The accomplishments associated with Professor Kabo's research activities over a period of more than 50 years are related to building unique equipment for high precision thermodynamic measurements, conducting experimental measurements over broad ranges of temperature and pressure, developing new prediction methods for thermodynamic properties of organic compounds, establishing new theoretical concepts related to structural and energy-related properties based on new data obtained by either experiment or prediction, and providing innovative technological solutions to the processes of industrial importance based on thermodynamic properties determined.
