Effects of oleoresins on the chemical properties of cold-pressed rapeseed oil
A cold-pressed rapeseed oil was improved by addn. 1% of dried rosemary and resins from Boswellia carteri, Boswellia serrata, Boswellia frereana and Guggul (Commiphora wightii). The oils were stored at 10 +/- 1 degrees C. After 2, 4, 8 and 12 weeks, the oil samples were studied for acid index, peroxide value and oxidative stability by std. methods. The addn. of dried rosemary and Guggul resin, resulted in a significant increase in the oxidative stability of rapeseed oil.
