Catalytic Synthesis of Alkyl-alpha,omega-diyl Dimethyl Dicarbonate via Transesterification by Solid Base
The catalytic synthesis of alkyl-alpha,omega-diyl dimethyl dicarbonate was achieved firstly by solid base via transesterification of aliphatic diols with dimethyl carbonate under atmospheric pressure. The effect of base properties on the distribution of products was investigated. CaO with moderate basicity displayed excellent catalytic performance and reusability with alkyl-alpha,omega-diyl dimethyl dicarbonate yields of 91-99%.
