Electrochemical hydrogen and lithium absorption/desorption in Ti46Ni45Nb9 alloy in aqueous electrolytes
The electrochemical performance of a Ti46Ni45Nb9 electrode in different solutions has been studied. The Ti46Ni45Nb9 electrode can absorb/desorb hydrogen in 3 M KOH aqueous and lithium in non-aqueous solution (1 M LiClO4 dissolved in a 50/50 vol.% (v/o) mixture of ethylene carbonate and diethyl carbonate), respectively. It is assumed that lithium and hydrogen are incorporated in the Ti46Ni45Nb9 electrode in saturated LiCl + LiOH solution and result in a more positive potential value of hydrogen desorption and an abnormal discharge curve.
