Application of the central composite rotatable design in the optimization of medium constituents for the production of citric acid from anhydrous glycerol
Anhyd. glycerol was bioconverted to citric acid by using Aspergillus niger PD-66 on NH4NO3, KH2PO4, and MgSO4-contg. substrates at 30 degrees C and 200 rpm for 15 days. The results were evaluated statistically to det. the optimal final concns. of citric acid and biosynthesis efficiency coeff. from the resp. regression equations. A good agreement between the exptl. detd. and calcd. values was achieved.
