Solubility of squalane and dinonyl phthalate in CO2 with entrainers
The solubilities of two low volatile liquids of different polarity - squalane and dinonyl phthalate - were measured in supercritical carbon dioxide entrained with a small amount of n-hexane, toluene or ethanol. A dynamic method of measurement was applied. Extraction pressure was 9-10 MPa, extraction temperature 303.15 K and 313.15 K. The concentration of entrainer in the vapour phase was in the range from 0 to 2-8 mol%. It was found that the solubility of both solutes in CO2 could be increased considerably by entrainers.
