Comment on "The Debye-Huckel theory and its importance in modeling electrolyte solutions"
In a recent review by Kontogeorgis et al. [Fluid Phase Equilib. 462 (2018) 130-152] many debatable issues concerning the Debye-Huckel theory and modeling electrolyte solutions are discussed. The goal of this comment is to complement this survey with a short summary of the extended Debye-Huckel theory [1.Yu. Shilov, A.K. Lyashchenko, 2015] which allows for an arbitrary variation of electrolyte solution static permittivity with concentration and thus sheds new light on the interrelation between the Debye-Huckel theory and the Born theory of solvation.
