Multifunctional porous VN nanowires interlayer as polysulfides barrier for high performance lithium sulfur batteries
The shuttle effect of polysulfides and slow redox reductions in electrochemical processes seriously reduce sulfur utilization, leading to serious performance decay. We prepare a freestanding porous VN nanowires interlayer for lithium sulfur batteries, which can act as a polysulfide immobilizer and electrocatalyst in Lithium sulfur batteries. Furthermore, The VN nanowires interlayer enhances conduction of electrons and Li ions which can enhance the electrochemical performance of lithium sulfur batteries. With above-mentioned merits, the lithium sulfur batteries with VN nanowires interlayer delivers reversible capacity of 878 mAh g(-1) at 0.5 C after 300 cycles. This work offers a facile method to promote the pace of lithium sulfur batteries practical applications.
