Random-Walks in Prefractal Porous-Media
Random walks ave used to examine dispersion between miscible fluids in one-dimensional, prefractal porous medium. Mixing in such media is anomalous and several nonlocal theories have been proposed to describe this non-Fickian characteristic. This work simulates dispersion via a random walk in a prefractal media by incorporating local and spatially nonlocal effects and compares the results with laboratory experiments. Results suggest that nonlocal models fit experimental data better than local models.
