Lauric acid was esterified with n-hexanol at 393-413 K and molar ratio 3:1 to 10:1 in presence of H2SO4 catalyst (0.025% by mass) to study the reaction kinetics. The reaction was of 2nd order (activation energy 42 kJ/mole).
