Determination and Modeling of Solubility of 4-Aminobenzamide in Different Pure Solvents
Solubility of 4-aminobenzamide was measured by a gravimetric method in ethyl acetate, butyl acetate, methyl acetate, methanol, ethanol, isobutanol, 1-butanol, acetonitrile, isopropanol, acetone, water, and 1-propanol at varied temperatures between 283.15 and 323.15 K. Modified Apelblat, nonrandom two-liquid, and Wilson models were applied to correlate the relationship between the temperature and solubility, and the model parameters and data error were calculated and compared with each other. Results revealed that the best correlation accuracy was obtained by modified Apelblat model. Furthermore, dissolution Gibbs energy Delta(dis)G, dissolution entropy Delta S-dis, and dissolution enthalpy Delta H-dis were determined based on the solubility data, and the three dissolution thermodynamic properties were also discussed to investigate the dissolution behavior of 4-aminobenzamide.
