Solubilities of 2,6-Dimethylnaphthalene in Six Pure Solvents and Two Binary Solvent Systems
The solubility data of 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene (2,6-DMN) in various solvents are of great significance for the separation and oxidation process. The solubilities of 2,6-DMN in six pure solvents including isopropyl alcohol, n-heptane, cyclohexane, ethyl acetate, n-propyl acetate, and 2,2,4-trimethylpentane and two binary solvent mixtures (formic acid + water and acetic acid + water) were measured by a static analytical method with water content in the binary solvent systems varying from 0 to 0.2 at atmospheric pressure. The lambda h model and nonrandom two-liquids (NRTL) model were used to correlate these solubility data, and the relevant parameters were regressed by the least-squares method. and there is satisfactory agreement between the experimental results and model prediction derived from the lambda h model and NRTL model.
