Poly (sunset yellow) sensor for dopamine: A voltammetric study
By using cyclic voltammetry (CV), sunset yellow film was electrodeposited on the surface of carbon paste electrode by electropolymerization technique to obtain the poly (Sunset yellow) modified carbon paste electrode (CPE). The fabricated poly (Sunset yellow) modified CPE showed excellent electro-catalytic activity towards the oxidation of dopamine, ascorbic acid and uric acid individually and simultaneously. The oxidation peaks were well developed with more enhancement of oxidation peak current in 0.2M PBS of physiological pH (7.4) at the sweep rate of 50 mV/s. The effect of variation of sweep rate (20 to 300 mV/s) and pH (5.8-7.8) on CV of DA were studied. The lower limit of detection of DA was 0.9 mu M and simultaneous separation DA, AA and UA was achieved by both CV and DPV techniques. The proposed method was applied to the detection of dopamine in injection samples.
